DE – Antonio Rodrigues geboren am 26. Oktober 1969 in Luanda (Angola), studierte Malerei in Portugal, Kunst am Dr.Serafim Leite S. João da Madeira, am Centro de Artes S. João da Madeira, am Soares dos Reis Porto Portugal und Non-Toxic Grafics an der Academie of Art Ghent. Regelmäßige Ausstellungen in Portugal seit 1989, in Belgien seit 2001. Er lebt und arbeitet heute in Gent, Belgien. Auf seinem künstlerischen Weg entdeckte er andere Disziplinen, die ihn auf neue Ausdruckswege führten. In seinen Werken lassen sich visuelle Verbindungen zu realistischen Bildern herstellen, ohne dabei die Abstraktion zu verlassen. Sein Hauptthema ist die Natur in ihren verschiedenen Aspekten und Zuständen, ökologische, soziale und politische Aspekte sind ebenfalls eine Inspiration.
Für António Rodrigues ist die Arbeit als bildender Künstler das Ergebnis einer konsequenten Entwicklung, die durch das kreative Schaffen und den intuitiven Charakter externer Faktoren der täglichen Analyse bestimmt wird. Er drückt sich in der Regel durch Malerei, Skulptur, Gravur und Fotografie aus, ist aber auch schriftstellerisch tätig. Der Künstler sieht sich selbst ironisch als „Mister Perfect” und betrachtet Humor als ein gesundes und notwendiges Element des Lebens. Seine Prioritäten in der Kunst: „Mit der Entwicklung arbeiten und weiterarbeiten!”
FR – Antonio Rodrigues né le 26 octobre 1969 à Luanda (Angola), a étudié la peinture au Portugal, les arts plastiques à l'école Dr. Serafim Leite de S. João da Madeira, au Centro de Artes de S. João da Madeira, à l'université Soares dos Reis de Porto (Portugal) et les arts graphiques non toxiques à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Gand. Il expose régulièrement au Portugal depuis 1989 et en Belgique depuis 2001. Il vit et travaille aujourd'hui à Gand, en Belgique. Au cours de son parcours artistique, il a découvert d'autres disciplines qui l'ont conduit vers de nouveaux modes d'expression. Dans ses œuvres, on peut établir des liens visuels avec des images réalistes, sans pour autant s’éloigner de l’abstraction. Son thème principal est la nature sous ses différents aspects et états ; les aspects écologiques, sociaux et politiques sont également une source d’inspiration.
Pour António Rodrigues, le travail d’artiste plasticien est le résultat d’une évolution cohérente, déterminée par la création artistique et le caractère intuitif de facteurs externes issus de l’analyse quotidienne. Il s’exprime généralement à travers la peinture, la sculpture, la gravure et la photographie, mais il est également auteur. L’artiste se considère avec ironie comme « Mister Perfect » et considère l’humour comme un élément sain et nécessaire de la vie. Ses priorités dans l’art : « Travailler avec l’évolution et continuer à travailler ! »
EN – Antonio Rodrigues born on 26 October 1969 in Luanda (Angola), studied painting in Portugal at the Dr. Serafim Leite School of Art in S. João da Madeira, the Centro de Artes S. João da Madeira, and the Soares dos Reis School of Art in Porto, Portugal, and non-toxic graphics at the Academy of Art in Ghent. He has held regular exhibitions in Portugal since 1989 and in Belgium since 2001. He now lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. During his artistic journey, he discovered other disciplines that led him to new forms of expression. In his works, visual connections to realistic images can be drawn without departing from abstraction. His main theme is nature in its various aspects and states; ecological, social and political aspects are also a source of inspiration.
For António Rodrigues, his work as a visual artist is the result of a consistent development shaped by creative practice and the intuitive nature of external factors in daily analysis. He generally expresses himself through painting, sculpture, engraving and photography, but is also active as a writer. The artist ironically sees himself as ‘Mister Perfect’ and regards humour as a healthy and necessary element of life. His priorities in art: ‘To work with development and keep working!’
DE – Frauke Ophelia Billen hat ihren Master in Bildender Kunst, Fachrichtung Bildhauerei, an der Konklijke Academie in Antwerpen abgeschlossen sowie einen Kunstlehrerdiplom (Bildhauerei) an der Kunsthumaniora Sint-Lucas in Gent.
Sie konzentriert sich auf Skulptur, 3D-Form und Zeichnung. Sie spielt gerne mit Formen und Techniken. Arbeit, Spaß, Beobachtung, Erfahrung, das Lösen künstlerischer Probleme sind die Grundlagen ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit.
Die Künstlerin versucht stets, sie selbst zu sein und pur zu bleiben.In ihrer Arbeit ist es für sie grundlegend, auf die Eigenschaften des Materials einzugehen: „Die Bildhauertechnik ist der Form untergeordnet; die Form bestimmt die Technik!“
Schopenhauers Zitat „Es ist die Aufgabe des Menschen, in seinen Handlungen so natürlich wie die Natur selbst zu werden“ ist für die Künstlerin wichtig. Sie stellt dieses Streben einerseits in Werken dar, in denen sie sehr spontan arbeitet, und andererseits in Werken, die für sie eine Entscheidung symbolisieren: „Wann weiß man, ob das eigene Handeln natürlich ist? Sind wir nicht alle Teil einer Struktur und Gesellschaft? Diese Fragen faszinieren mich.“
FR – Frauke Ophelia Billen a obtenu son master en arts plastiques, option sculpture, à la Koninklijke Academie d'Anvers, ainsi qu'un diplôme d'enseignante en arts plastiques (sculpture) à la Kunsthumaniora Sint-Lucas de Gand.
Elle se consacre principalement à la sculpture, à la forme en 3D et au dessin. Elle aime jouer avec les formes et les techniques. Le travail, le plaisir, l'observation, l'expérience et la résolution de problèmes artistiques constituent les fondements de son travail artistique.
L'artiste s'efforce toujours d'être elle-même et de rester authentique. Dans son travail, il est fondamental pour elle de tenir compte des propriétés du matériau : « La technique sculpturale est subordonnée à la forme ; c'est la forme qui détermine la technique ! »
La citation de Schopenhauer « La tâche de l’homme est de devenir, dans ses actes, aussi naturel que la nature elle-même » revêt une grande importance pour l’artiste. Elle exprime cette aspiration d’une part dans des œuvres où elle travaille de manière très spontanée, et d’autre part dans des œuvres qui symbolisent pour elle un choix : « Comment savoir si nos propres actes sont naturels ? Ne faisons-nous pas tous partie d’une structure et d’une société ? Ces questions me fascinent. »
EN – Frauke Ophelia Billen completed her Master’s degree in Fine Art, specialising in sculpture, at the Koninklijke Academie in Antwerp, as well as a diploma in art education (sculpture) at the Sint-Lucas Art School in Ghent.
She focuses on sculpture, 3D form and drawing and enjoys experimenting with forms and techniques. Work, enjoyment, observation, experience and the resolution of artistic problems form the foundations of her artistic practice.
The artist always strives to be true to herself and to remain authentic. In her work, it is fundamental for her to respond to the properties of the material: “The sculptural technique is subordinate to the form; the form determines the technique!”
Schopenhauer’s quote, “It is the task of humankind to become as natural in their actions as nature itself,” is important to the artist. She depicts this aspiration, on the one hand, in works where she works very spontaneously, and on the other, in works that symbolise a decision for her: “How do you know if your own actions are natural? Are we not all part of a structure and a society? These questions fascinate me.”
